Since starting work on Arsenal, we knew that we were going to need a great logo to represent our engine, but our efforts had yet to produce something that we were happy with. Finally, with our most recent iteration, we think that we have something that we can use.
We would love to get your feedback on the new logo design. If you have any thoughts on the logo you can use our contact form to let us know!
We have a few different versions of the logo so far. First there is the banner version.
This is the version that you could put, for instance, at the beginning of a game made with Arsenal.
For the logo by itself we have both the 3D version and a flat version that is useful when the icon needs to be simpler or smaller. The flat version keeps its shape a little better at small icon sizes for instance.
I'm very excited about this latest design and we would all love to hear the community's thoughts on it.
In addition to the logo, we have been working on finishing off our effort to enable OpenGL support in WGPU. This will hopefully allow Arsenal and other WGPU-based projects such as Iced and Nannou to support platforms that do not support Vulkan, such as Rasberry Pi's and somewhat older desktops and laptops.
We have made great progress on the effort, succesfully running the WGPU cube example using on OpenGL. There are still some rendering artifacts to fix and most of the other examples are broken, but the results are promising.
