If you have visited our site and have read the statement "Katharos Technology is a team that wants to make video games," you might have asked, "Well, where are the games?" I want to take couple minutes here to give those who may be interested a little bit of backstage info on what we are up to at K-Tech.
The first thing to understand is that we are still in the very early stages of game development. Lots of research, practice, and learning have occurred as we prepare ourselves for making our first public game. After all, we want to be sure that when we bring the world our first game, it will be something truly awesome. We have already tested and ultimately rejected a number of game engines in our search for the right one for us, and we even created a proof of concept for our own game engine called Arsenal. Arsenal may or may not be the engine used for our first game though, and we are still in the process of selecting the right tools and learning all the skills needed.
In addition to our passion for video games, we also have a passion for Digital Transformation. As we have built up the digital side of our company, we needed to be as efficient as possible in order to give us the time we needed to work on what was important, and not waste all our time on maintenance. Experience gained optimizing our own, as well as other people's workflows, has made us proficient in the most modern Digital Transformation software and techniques available today.
Due to our team's expertise in the field, Katharos Tech has begun a Digital Transformation Consulting practice, which will help to make our company more sustainable, supplying our business with income not currently being produced by game development. This is not a change in our direction to pursue game making, but a practical step that will allow us to build up our company and continue to learn what we need to make the kind of games that we want to produce.
Katharos Tech has always chosen to pursue quality over the quick-and-dirty way of getting things accomplished. We firmly believe in doing the absolute best that we can, even if it takes us longer to do it. While we aren't ready to release a game yet, we are going to make sure that when we are, it will have been well worth the wait.
